Domestic Flight Kit

Electronic Prototype Object.

When we think of Acrophobia and Vertigo, who would we think of?

We may know someone, a friend, a colleague, we know . We are familiar with the symptoms, the feelings of instability, of falling, the ground slipping away and being completely out of control.

But what about pilots, surely they would have no problem? Those flying chaps could travel the world and back, pulling barrel rolls and loop the loops. going up to 40,000ft and back, so why would they have a problem changing a lightbulb.

Step in the Domestic Flight Kit, a wearable set of instruments and instrument panel, to measure pitch and roll, height (via an altimeter) and instability, thus helping the nervous pilot by giving them a readout of what is actually going on, over a simple to decode instrument panel that remains just inside their periphal vision (and blocks any site of the ground!!). This allows them to get on with the task at hand.

Part of the Complicated Pleasures Brief, developing a Placebo for a specific phobia.

Ladder Locker

The Domestic Flight Kit on the ladder, awaiting use from its nervous owner.

Measuring Height

Measuring different heights for re-assurance

Climbing the ladder

When in use, the Domestic Flight Kit displays various intrumention measurements in the pilots lower vision.

Sucessfull climb

A moment of achivement, a sucessfull climb.

Electronics

Electronic Components which allows the prototype to function.
